Altnapaste : TWIN TOWNS WALKING FESTIVAL
Altnapaste is a 364m hill just outside Ballybofey on the way to Glenties. Although not the highest, it stands apart from other hills around it and as such the views are outstanding. There are a number of ways up this little mountain, and our knowledgeable local guide will take you on one of the more challenging and rewarding routes.
Distance / Duration : 10km / Approx 3.5 hours (the route may vary dependent on weather conditions)
Ability: Challenging / Quiet roads, track, muddy and wet hillside; two fences to cross
Suitable for: participants with a good level of fitness who walk on a regular basis. Minimum age is 16 (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult).
What to bring: Waterproof hiking boots and clothing are essential wear. Walking poles are advised. Organisers reserve the right to refuse admission if not fully equipped for the terrain and conditions. You should bring enough water and snacks for a 3.5 hour walk.
Meeting Point: The BASE Enterprise Centre, Railway Road, Stranorlar, Co Donegal.
Registration: Opened from 9.30am to 9.45am, Bus will leave from the registration point at 10am sharp to the walk start. Walkers may not join the walk at any other point
